hi all – I’m considering using card dance to “pull apart” a halftone photo of a girl. So each ‘card’ has a single dot on it that can fly around. Problem is I have hundreds of dots making up this half tone. They are evenly spaced. But I can’t get the grid to match up in card dance. Does anyone suggest a better way to make this work rather than trial and error? I can get my grid very close to correct but then it is incorrectly aligned with the dots…..

Methinks you need to count the dots in your halftone, width and Height, hey aren’t they come n-dots per inch? Anyway then you can set up your card dance grid with the correct numbers.

You could also try Shatter, using the halftone image as a shatter map.

    I’d use Ball Action.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

cheers – will try all these methods….Steve, often when I use a shatter map that is exactly the same as object I get lost pieces that just fly around – like the map isn’t matching up correctly. But it must be cause all I do is desaturate the same image.
