Having some problems cloning an installed OS tiger disc to another SATA drive. The new SATA is in the G5 with the other. I just keep getting a password error but I know it’s right. It just sort of hangs after the password is entered.

    Any tricks here?

I’ve had mixed results in the past with CCC. Any experts out there? Hidden settings. Any other thoughts?

Other apps that do the same thing more elegantly?

Try SuperDuper! I switched after components of CCC seemed to not be supported.

I replied to your cross-post on OSX. I won’t repeat it all, but basically it was that CCC sets r/o attributes on the copy (or at least it did it to me). An easy fix in Finder (hit ‘info’), but I’ve switched to Intech’s Quickback. (Buy a ADS firewire drive for $60 and you get the $80 set of apps free.) Your problem is not quite that, but I’d check the attributes just in case. Might be cascading error messages.
