I want to do a time lapse shot of cars driving down the highway that shows the tail lights trailing behind. I know this is done all the time. Mitsubishi used to air a commercial like this. Is this done by changing the shutter speed on the camera or can it be done in AE. I have checked the archives, but didn’t see anything. I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Well, I don’t recall that add excatly but i do remember this effect being attempted (successfully) using particular. and motion tracking.

I would say, Play around with the time echo effect to get everything to “blend” then use particual to stream the bright spot of the vehicle.

The real trick is going to be creating depth using a 2d tracker and having to create the particles in 3D space.

    Cheers,
