Capturing XDCAM-EX
Once I put the Sony memory card in the Express Card slot of my MBP, the card shows up in the menu bar, up at the top next to my internet connection. However, I can’t get access to the footage on the card. I’ve never used the express card slot before. Is there software needed to get the footage off the card? I’m working in FCP 5.1.4. A friend let me play with the camera for a night, but I don’t know much about Sony’s card system.

You need the “SONY XDCAM Transfer”. Have a look in the SONY CineaAlta forum.
