May 29, 2006 at 3:00 amA capture card really isn’t necessary for capturing DV/HDV footage. All you’ll need is a firewire port and cable. Sounds like you have a conflict in settings with premiere and your camera. Just make sure you have the right presets and the right device control.

May 29, 2006 at 12:18 pmI just found a solution in Adobe’s forum: Create a new User Account with administrative privileges in Windows and capturing should work again. Even if your old User Account have administrative privileges creating a new one is worth trying. 🙂
Dont forget to log into the new account!

May 29, 2006 at 11:17 pmI have figured it out! It seems that for some reason my external sound card and its drivers were clashing with PP2. So I formatted my PC, turned on my on-board sound card in the bios, re-installed XP SP2 and all the standard essential drivers, then just installed PP2, and it all works perfectly.
Now all I need to do is figure out how to re-install my external sound card so I can start using Pro Tools again.
Any ideas?
Thanks to everyone for upir help so far…

May 29, 2006 at 11:31 pmFirst disable the onboard sound card in the BIOS of your system. Then reboot and install your PCI soundcard in a free PCI slot on the motherboard. Finally, install the drivers supplied by the manufacturer of this souncard for this particular device.
