  • Capturing video problems? – Can’t change from 10 fps

    Hello,

I recently bought a USB video capture stick and am using it to upload old VHS tapes to my computer.

My problem is that when it imports it as a .mov file, adobe programs see it as a 10 frames per second video and I can’t change that?

In the video settings for the USB stick, I have tried a multitude of formats (H264, PAL DV etc) and changed it from progressive to interlaced and back again plus I also tried forcing it to 25 fps but it always brings the VHS video in at 10 frames per second.

And when I try to convert it in Adobe encoder to 25 fps so i can put it on DVD it is extremly jittery and not smooth like it is on the tape.

The strange thing is that Quicktime player plays the imported .mov file perfectly but adobe peremiere, encore and the encoder keeps thinking it’s 10 fps . Can someone please help?

    Thanks,

    Owain

USB video capture stick is a waste of money.
If you want to transfer vhs to pc with the right framerate and most important in sync audio, buy yourself a Grass valley converter.
