  • Capturing video from Canon Vixia HV 30 HD into Premier Pro CS3

Hi, I’m having a similar problem to the thread here: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/888172 I am trying to capture footage into Adobe premier pro CS3 off a Canon Vixia HV 30 HD. The footage was shot in 24fps and I cannot for the life of me get it off the mini DV.

I have attempted to get it off the canon camera using the firewire, but premier pro won’t recognize the camera. In the capture screen it says “Try resetting camera” and that it can’t recognize it. After going in to edit the settings options I still have control over the camera controls on the screen (pressing play on the capture screen will play the footage inside the camera alright but the screen is black and there is no audio or picture). I need to get this footage off this camera but premier pro won’t play nice. I have also attempted to get the footage by capturing it into windows movie maker, but I get a similar error notice and it won’t capture footage (the capture window won’t even pop up).Any ideas?

If your camera is set to “Down Convert” to DV you must be in a “DV-NTSC Widescreen” Project preset.
If “Down Convert” is off, you must be in a “HDV 1080p24” Project.
