  Capturing video directly into iMovie with Canon HD10

  Is the Canon HD10 able to capture video directly onto iMovie? I would like to buy a USB extension and connect the camera to my computer to capture directly onto my MAC instead of transferring after the recording on the camera’s hard disk.
  Do you know if this is possible and if so, how long would be too long for the USB extension?
