Capturing Varicam Footage
So I am new to the whole capturing of footage from a Varicam camera, and need any help tips or doing so. Any advice or websites to check out for advice would be greatly appreciated.
So here is my problems, working on a huge project shot on Varicam. I am a virgin to capturing from the Varicam and working with Varicam footage so forgive my lack of knowledge. The footage is shot at various frame rates. I have been using the capture preset in Final Cut DVCPRO HD 720p30. After capturing some clips play back fine, some play back really fast and alot of clips the audio gets out of sync. Now I believe this has to do with the change of the frame rates in camera. From the research Ive done I think I read the camera always shots at 60p then using a frame rate convertor converts to slow motion and etc. My question is should we use the preset 60p and not 30p then convert. Also I dont know which clips are shot in slow motion and which ones are not, so can I capture a clip that has footage shot a 60 frames and 30 frames. Then the conversion will figure out which is slow and which is normal speed or do they have to be seperated.
Sorry, there were no replies found.
