Capturing to Avid through a firewire camera
This has probably been answered before, but I feel like there may be some additional problems that makes it unique for me.
I’m trying to capture minidv with a JVC GY-HD100 camera connected through firewire into Avid Media Composer 2.8 in a Windows Vista pc and it’s not seeing the camera.
The computer is seeing the camera. Choosing Auto-Adjust immediately brings “No Deck” into the dropdown. Adjusting the deck myself still means it can’t be found.
I’ve never captured from a camera before and I’ve never captured through firewire before.
So I don’t know if there’s some secret setting I need to change to get Avid to read from a camera? The audio and video inputs are set to Host-1394.Another possible problem… is Media Composer 2.8 supposed to run on Vista at all? Am I just running on a fluke and really none of this should be possible?
