capturing tape from HVX200
I just bought FCP 7 and had trouble getting video off card. I have since figured that out. But I shot a couple of minutes of B-roll on tape and now the computer won’t log and capture the tape. The l&c window says “Preview Disabled” even though at the bottom is says “VTR Okay.”When I click on capture now I get a window that says “Waiting for Timecode, Device must be in VTR Mode when Device Control is enabled.” Nothing happens when I press the play button on the camera.

Sequence: DVCPRO HD – 720p60
Capture: DCVPRO HD – 720p60 48 khz
Device Control Preset: FireWire NTSC Basic
Video Playback: (Missing) DVCPRO DD (720p60) (1280 x 720)
I don’t know why is says video playback is missing. -
How would you expect to shoot DV to tape and yet capture HD? Doesn’t work that way. You shoot to tape- that’s DV NTSC/SD. Capture as such. If you want it to play on an HD timline, upconvert.
