I finally got capturing down well. FCE 3.0

But I did see that it kept quiting and saying aquisition completed, dropped frames.

I finally unchecked the preference to stop capturing on dropped frames, and was able to continue. This tape was a test tape that was recorded over, maybe once before at most. Was this the issue? or something else? thanks!

It sounds like there are timecode breaks on your tape-meaning that the recording was stopped and started again and there’s a slight gap between the stop and start.
Or you’ve re-recorded over the tape with different timecode numbers.
    Neither is good for digitizing.

    Good Luck,
