Capturing question
Hello,
I have a quick question about capturing.
Whenever I capture a clip from my camera, the clip seems to be spliced into smaller clips in the project media folder.
It seems like Vegas organizes these clips depending on the shot that was recorded. In other words, if the captured clip contains three different shots, the clip will be stored as three different clips (one per shot), instead of just one.
Does anybody know how to fix this? How can I set it up so it stores the clips according to how I capture them?
Because from what I have seen in other programs, if I click on “capture” and after 10 seconds I click on “stop”, then that is just one 10 second clip, regardless of how many shots are within those 10 seconds.

Doesn’t seem to be an option. I have even gone through the online help which says the same thing. There is no check box…

Go to VidCap>Options>Preferences>Capture… the forst box is “Enable DV scene detection. Uncheck it.
Or you could always disable the internal clock in your camcorder. -
If you open the capturing tool window, there is a section for preferences. The box to uncheck that Terry mentioned yesterday is one of the first ones, right on top.
It is there, believe me. But you must look for it in the capturing window.

You are looking in the wrong place. It is not in The Vegas editing module it is in the Video Capture (thus VidCap) module.

only after NOT choosing HD input do I get the capture screen.
I don’t think we were talking the same format. I am trying

Apparently there is no way to do this with HDV
