  • Capturing problems with FCP + AJA io

    Can’t really capture any footage off the DV deck thru the AJA io.

    Our video feed is S-Video, XLR analog audio.

    When we try to ‘capture now’ with FCP, there are pop up messages that say that I should check the VTR, and there was a tape error. I tried a few tapes, and got the same message.

    any help with this would be great.

    Hi:
    If you’re using Capture Now I would assume that you don’t have any way to control your VTR via RS-422. If so FCP is waiting to communicate with your VTR via RS-422 control and can’t. Simply open the Capture Tool and select the Capture Settings Tab, Select the Device Control drop down and select Non-Controllable Device. After you select capture now, you will need to press Play on your VTR.
