For some reason, vegas 8 is not recognizing my dv deck. I know my computer is seeing the deck, because it gives me the initial dialogue box when I turn it on. However, when I open the capture window in vegas, I do not recieve the DV or HDV/SDI prompt, and the control buttons (play, pause, etc.) remain ghosted and do not respond to any input. I have never had this problem before and have tried everything I know to do. Anybody have any suggestions?

I feel so Dumb…I Shot this Event with my gr-hd1 as well as my hvr-z1u…The tape plays fine in the sony but does not capture in any program…Oh well I had fun screwing with reinstalling and dual booting windows vista and XP, the whole time I thought it was some driver issue with 64bit…the secret to dual booting is vistabootpro…be sure to install xp first and copy ntldr, ntdetect, and > boot. ini to the same root drives of both Vista & XP. sorry intel, sony, dell and ads pyro…My bad…

If you unhook, you get the DV – HDV promt back.

If you hook up, the only option is HDV capture.
