    Ugh. Here it goes.

My assistant editors logged and captured mini DV footage into a 720p 23.976 project. About 12 tapes in total. Playback is obviously jerky and wonky looking.

I created a 30i project and imported the bins, thinking I could just re-batch capture the footage correctly at 29.97 but get the following:

“You cannot batch capture mix-rate clips. Please capture the individual clips in their respective project formats.”

I tried Modify -> Set Format on both the clips and a sequence to no avail.

Any ideas on how I can trick the Avid into thinking these clips are 29.97 (which, in reality, they already are)?

    Thanks!

Export as ALE, modify ALE to 29.97, import ALE, batch capture?

The ALE method that Job suggested is the way to go.

Or… were the originals shot 23.98? In which case, you need to have all clips start at a TC ending in :00 or :05. Otherwise you will get the phenomena you mentioned.

Thank you for the responses! Sorry for the late reply, got caught up in a different project.

I tried the ALE solution and it worked perfectly! Very clever!
