Hello there good people of the cow,

i am very new to FCP and am having problems capturing. I am used to doing it in premiere where once you’ve hit escape it asks you for a file name. How do i make it so i can clearly label each clip in FCP. At the mo, i’m going back into finder and renaming it there, but there has to be an easier way to do it.

Any help would be very gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Jamie

Log it first in the log and capture window… you can enter a name by typing in the 3 fields below the greyed out name column and checking on the checkbox near the field with the text you’ve entered. Also after typing F2 to log the clip, if the “prompt” checkbox is checked, you’ll have a dialog box open to change the name of the clip or put a name in it.
