Had a sudden realization last night and am fearing that I’ve been incorrectly capturing my HDV footage.

I’m working on an Avid MC7.4 in a 1080p 29.97 project, and I have a slew of HDV tapes that are 1920×1080 60i. I’ve been capturing it in a secondary 1080i 59.97 project, so that once it’s in I could bring in the bins from that project into the main 1080p29.97 project and work from there. Am I doing the right thing? Am I doing an unnecessary thing? Do I have to redo all of my captures???

Thanks for any guidance, too, I haven’t worked with tapes like this before and it’s making me incredibly paranoid…

    Oh thank goodness…

I keep getting confused about the 60i, which is actually 29.97fps vs actually 59.94fps. Trying very hard not to muck it up.

    Thanks again, Shane!
