  • Capturing HDV from Canon’s

I have Final Cut Pro Studio 2
    a 24″ iMac 2.8
    4 GB Memory
    1 – Canon XH-A1
    1 – Canon HV20

My problem is I can’t get the XH-A1 to capture in FCP at all.
And when I get the HV20 to capture, in the end it pushes the
sides of the video in so it’s no longer wide screen.

I’m new to using FCP so is there any help for me?

Are you shooting HDV? Are your capture settings HDV? Do you have device control? Wondering about a couple specifics in regards to your problem.

I figured it out, thanks. However now I’m wondering how do I export so that I can view it on my widescreen plasma without having to zoom. It always shows on my TV with letter box on top and bottom as well as the sides. No matter what I do. The menu’s in iDVD play full screen, but the actual movie plays in a smaller widescreen. Any help?
