    Hi FCP professionals,

I need help with capturing HDV footage into FCP. The footage was shot in 720p30 with JVC HDV 100.

    Capture Software
    Final Cut Pro 5.1 Crossgrade

    Capture Device
    JVC HDV Deck

    FCP Audio/Video Settings:

    Sequence Preset
    HDV – 720p30

    Capture Preset
    HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec

    Device Control Preset
    HDV FIrewire

The JVC HDV deck did not allow me to control it using Log & Capture Window. I had to control the deck locally (manually) and could only do “capture now”.

I had to select HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec instead of HDV in the audio/video settings. Otherwise, the deck will not capture the footage even though Final Cut recognizes the deck.

Now that I have all the footage in my hard drive and start editing, when I drop the video into the timeline, the video turns into a solid green or solid black.

What seems to be the problem?

I would very appreciate your advice. Thank you.
