    Hello Everyone,

We have a Decklink SDI capture card and we were trying to capture 1080i HD feed from this capture card. However before capture, we have to change the “input processing” setting in the Black Magic Design Control Panel to “1080i HD to SD Letterbox 16:9”. If we don’t do this, the FMLE doesn’t get the feed at all.

It seems that the signal has to be down converted to SD before the signal is given to the encoder. Has anyone done the HD encoding using Decklink SDI capture card? Should we use any other encoder apart from FMLE which we can take HD signal without getting down converted?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kuldeep

If you want to capture HD you should set PROCESSING to OFF in the Decklink control panel.

After that, choose a Blackmagic HD easy setup that matches your source footage.

Meaning your FCP capturing settings are WRONG at the moment.
