    Hello,

Question… is it possible to transfer HDV footage via Firewire from the JVC HD100U to the computer?

    Thanks.

Very much so. The workflow depends on which NLE you use for editing. The process is the same is standard DV assuming you have worked with DV before.

I just got a HD100U. Is there any way in FCP to get it to digitize across timecode breaks thru firewire?

Thanks, Ken. I’m near Dallas so is Atlanta the closest place to get that upgrade done?

Ken – Thanks for your kind response to the threads posted. Your’s is the first communications I have seen from anyone at JVC responding to problems we folk have.

FYI: On 4/4/07 I sent a BR-HD100UA to Laurenceville for a couple of warranty problems; multiple disruption of video stream on to tape (up to 15-20 disruptions per hr.), and lost firewire communications with any equipment connection. I haven’t received a confirmation of receipt, acknowledgement of the problems, estimate of repair or when to expect delivery. In other words, no acknowledgement that anything exists.

It surely would be considerate of JVC Service to give the customer a status report. I have production to schedule and have no idea how to plan.

    Again, thanks for your consideration.
    Ken
