Is there a FCP version that works with this deck? FCP 5 does not recognize it and “non-controllable device” is selected. FCP X does not continuously import and stops at the end of each clip so “import” has to be pushed constantly. Or is there a setting on the deck that needs to be selected?

    Thanks, Jon

FCP and FCPX rely on timecode from the tape you’re digitizing. The problem is DV tape was always notorious for timecode drop-outs. Any drop-out and FCP/FCPX starts a new clip. Capture using QuickTime Player, it doesn’t care about timecode, and just captures like you’d expect.

Yes, that’s what I ended up doing. Thanks for the response.
