You will need a newer version of FCP to work with HDV.

I am using the HD version of FCP 4.5… Will this still not work?

    Thanks

    4.5 won’t do HDV.

Support for the V1U came with FCP 6. And that’s still a little questionable. There is still problems with 24p support in FCP6. But as for HDV in general, FCP 5 gave full support for this.
