This is an old camera. I’m not sure if it is actually compatible with Final Cut Studio 2.

Should I just buy a deck or another mini dv camera to capture footage taken on my GY-DV500E?

I’ve done everything – changed the system remote to IEEE 1234

    – I’ve tried every combination of capture devices – dvcpro, dv pal 48k, dv50

I would just way prefer to capture from the camera anyway i can, before i’d buy a deck.

    Thank you!

Have you checked the qualified list?

We’ve never had success with older JVC machines and Final Cut Pro – they are not on the compatability list. You either have to “Capture now” or capture from a compatible deck.
