capturing from camera to fcp
i am having trouble capturing film from my canon GL-2 to my fcp.
when i click on “capture now” for sixty minutes of film, it’s not capturing in one sixty-minute clip. i’m getting those 60 minutes in 10 separate clips. or 13 clips. or 5 clips.
i set markers to capture. that didn’t work.
i made sure that “abort for dropped frames” was clicked off too.
help. this is a recent problem, and i don’t know what’s happening.

also, i just bought a new firewire and tried capturing again, thinking that there might be an interruption due to the firewire, but that doesn’t work either.
it says, “trying to locate timecode break”.

he recommended way to “save” these broken TC tapes is to FireWire dub from the original to a new tape. Under most conditions this will result in continuous TC on the dub (if you’re using a “pro” deck, make sure it it set for INTERNAL TC.) Most camcorders ignore the TC on the original tape anyway and always generate their own. You would then only capture the newly dubbed tape.
