I’m having a problem capturing through my Kona 3 card into FCP from a DVD player using a analog to SDI converter. Video is showing up in the capture window.
I keep getting the message “tape has ended” like the timecode has ran out on a tape. It only records one frame of video.

Has anyone had this issue with capturing non-timecode material in the capture now setting?

I have tons of 3/4″ tapes backed up on DVD that I will need to use in FCP. Has this been an issue for anyway and can anyone offer any suggestions?
    Thanks,

    Ben

Set your device control setting to “non controllable device” then FCP won’t look for any Timecode.. just hit capture now, and capture whatcha see that way

YOu need to set Device Control to UNCONTROLLED DEVICE. A DVD player doesn’t have deck control, and FCP is looking for Deck Control.
