I have some DV footage that was shot in LP mode using a Sony PD-150. Im able to play back the footage on my DV deck, and on a XL1, but when I try to capture, most of the audio drops out, and the motion is stunted. Im using a G5, FCP 5.1.1, Sony DSR-20/Canon XL1. (I dont have access to the camera the footage was shot with) Is there a setting Im not using – HELP!!

    Thanks,

    Mike Torres

Try dubbing via FireWire to another camcorder or deck in the SP mode.

None of these devices handle the LP recording speed. They do mini dv and/or dvcam but not LP. You need to borrow a consumer camera or the little clam shell deck for mini dv (something 900 and 300). We have a photo shop in our tourist area here who rents these handycams to tourists. You can probably find one in your area too.
