    hi,

Do I need any special plugin or hardware to capture DVCPRO HD from the Panasonic AJ HDX900 DVCPro HD EX
camera through firewire straight to Premier?

    Any help is appreciated,

    thanks,

    Darcy

You’ll probably have to look at the Serious Magic website for a software solution (Coming to Adobe soon).

I have heard people mentioning codecs to make this work in Premiere in a couple of discussions, but SDI through AJA has been the only to make it work for me. I would do a search in the forums archives if you don’t have an SDI input. Many sugested different workarounds.

I use Raylight to convert mxf footage from the p2 cards shot on a HVX200. It converts to avi or quicktime.
I assume it will work for the HDX900 p2 footage too
