I am trying to capture DVCPRO HD to a AJ1400. I have set the AJ1400 to factory defaults and I am trying to use the firewire out. I can control the deck but I do not see any picture or hear any audio. Does anyone know of a special setting for the recorder that will solve my problem? I can capture HDV footage from a camera through the same cable with no trouble at all. But I have some DVCPRO HD footage that I would like to capture.

    Thank you.

I have the exact same deck. If you have another program, such as Final Cut Pro, you could capture through that program then import the footage into Premiere. I’ve had a lot of issues digitizing footage into Premiere so I always digitize in Final Cut Pro then import into Premiere. Hopefully they will fix the issue in CS7.

I don’t believe that Premiere Pro supports that deck via F W…it was kind of a special FCP thing as far as I knew…did Avid support that method of capture?
