I am having a hard time capturing video with my imac. There is no problem if I capture to the internal hard drive, but I’m trying to capture to a firewire 400 external drive. When I’m in the log and capture window, as soon as I play any video to log an in and out point, the screen freezes. It will continue to stay frozen until I stop the video source. I’m capturing standard dv via firewire. It’s the new intel imac, so I can’t understand what the problem is.

What did you format the firewire drive as? It should be Mac OS Extended, non-journaled.

If you used anything else, copy all data to the iMac, re-format it, and copy the data back.

I’m not sure…but that sounds like it might be the issue. I’ll give that a try tonight at home and let you know. thanks.

    Hey Jeff,

I re-formatted my drive and I’m still getting the same problem. Any other ideas?

    Hi,

I am having exactly the same problem. Did you find a solution? Can anyone else help?

    Thanks
