Capturing DV footage uncompressed over firewire.
Will capturing footage uncompressed over firewire give me better quality on my video clips?
I am editing a concert DVD and I plan to re-import the final edit uncompressed before I take the footage into After Effects for color corrections and de-interlacing.
Is this a good idea? Will the quality be better?

If your footage is DV then it really does not get better if you capture it uncompressed.
Uncompressed requires much faster drives as the data rates are about 6 times that of DV (DV =38mbs vs. Uncompressed 27mbs)
So you should have at least a firewire 800 raid or a SATA raid for uncompressed but you will not be gaining qualtity, just preserving it if you plan to do a lot of rendering.

Are you absolutely sure that DV is DV? I plan to do color correction and interlacing in After Effects? I read the following in an article on recapturing HDV video:

FCP totally decompresses DV when you apply an effect. It doesn’t get any better than that, other than for the specific instances I iterate in my article on chroma sampling.
