    Hello,

I am making an Independent Film to submit to the AFI but we aiming to do achieve big with minimal equipment, ie I am using a $500 SD Camcorder, the same one you would film home movies on to make this film. It has not outlets for microphones or anything like that.

So I am wondering how I can go about capturing movie quality audio with other devices to sync up.

I have a old Mini DV Tape Camera that I acquired that can take microphones, if I bought one and placed that in the scene to simply capture audio would that work?

Are there affordable sound recorders I can buy?

I live remote so internet buying if I had to buy anything is my option.

    Thank-You for your help.

    Life’s about being entertained.

Have a look at the “Zoom H4n” recorder to record the audio on…
You can use a “Rode” NTG1, NTG2 or even better the NTG3 or Sennheiser 416 mic on a boom pole and then into the Zoom H4n, Syncing up the audio to video wouldn’t be that hard as you will have a ROUGH guide track on the video recording.
