Activity Forums Compression Techniques Capturing Beta SP for file send

  • Capturing Beta SP for file send

I am trying to be sent (NTSC) footage from the States which comes from an old 4:3 Beta SP tape.

I have received a few different versions but the results have had poor playback (pixely footage as if were a 1999 internet stream).

I think the problem is that he is sending the footage “uncompressed” at a higher bit rate than what would be used for DVD (does that make sense to you guys or am I spouting nonsense?).

He is using something called Media100 to capture. What settings should he be using to send me a quality file I can use for DVD use (format, codec etc)

    Thanks for any help.

Just a quick bump – I really apologise – but I’m really stuck for an idea here.
