Using a Data800 switcher I can Firewire straight into FC a multicam production. In post I can add lower thirds and adjust audio sync. However, through out the shoot an occasional frame may drop from a camera or just someone picking their nose happens. Fixing it in post isn’t a problem but if the director doesn’t write down the time it can be very hard to find it in an hour long timeline. Is there a command, feature that will mark it while capturing with out it effecting the download?

I can’t think of one that does that, but if you were to run an audio recorder on your intercom channel, someone spotting a problem could call out the time code and you’d have a quick and dirty log that way. I’d suggest setting timecode to time-of-day and free-run, that makes it so anybody wearing a watch (less common on “millennial’s, these days) can jot the time and event down without needing to be next to the cameras or switcher.
