Using MC5 when i’m capturing footage from my sony Z1 via firewire the preview or recording is breaking/blocking up similar to tape dropout although everythings ok on the cameras LCD.I’ve set the media creation tool to HDV 1080i MXF and the cameras i-link down conversion is turned off. Also tried the lowest setting on video quality for preview etc.what am i doing wrong??

Is it actually recording this way or just previewing?

the severe digitizing is on the preview window during playback or recording even though everythings ok on the Z1 LCD screen.when i try to playback once captured i can scrub along timeline after a fashion with either severe pic breakup with periodic error message ‘get finished decompression error in clip HDV footage bin.01 error code CM error_codec.’ the clip is frozen unless i scrub on timeline.Captured some DV footage from my PD-150 and that seems ok.Is this a problem with my equipment which isn’t avid cerified?

    Update
I’ve just imported some clips i shot on a sony XDCAM PMW EX3 camera at the highest quality resolution 35mbps etc and that previews brilliantly even with the video quality set to green. What am i missing when it comes to HDV?
    thanks again
