capture won’t close
I frequently capture hour long HDV tapes with the capture now button. When the timecode runs out a lot of times the capture won’t escape or stop. I can stop the tape deck but still can’t stop the capture window so it will save the clip.
Sometimes I lose the clip and have to recapture. I hit escape repeatedly but i just get a ding sound.
If I rewind the tape and play the timecode it will eventually close the capture window.It doesn’t seem to have much predictability. If I catch it before the timecode runs out it will usually stop.
How can I get around this?Alan Stephens

Alan,
It may be that you click on something else than just the capture window while capturing, like the Browser say, this will cause this behavior. When capturing, don’t touch anything.

Try clicking on Final Cut in the Dock instead of the open project windows then hit escape. That might help.

I typically do use the time to surf the net and answer email.
However there have been times when I start capture then leave for an hour or so. When I come back
it gets stuck at the end of the footage and won’t close.Alan Stephens
