We’re running Avid Newscutter Adrenaline 6.1.7. Recently, engineering installed a Digibeta deck though a router so we can capture from that AND a BetaSP deck (don’t know if that has anything to do with it) Two users are reporting that they can’t batch capture. In their capture tool, the deck/world source toggle switch has a red dot on it and they can’t toggle between capture and log modes. When you cick on the deck/world source toggle button, it switches to that mode. And, you can capture, you just can’t log clips to batch later. Everything else about their settings is the same as users who can batch capture. What does that red dot mean??? How do you get rid if it??

Have your engineers also routed VTR control between the decks and your NewsCutter? Was the SP machine under VTR control from NewsCutter before the changes?

To answer you questions, yes, sort of, and yes.

Yes, sort of, we have to two routers, one for the audio and video and the other routes the remote control. And then, we move the plug for timecode… And yes, everything is routed correctly.

We are getting video, audio and can control both decks. We just can’t batch capture using 2 out of 8 user settings. The whole red dot thing…
