I am cursed with trying to capture to a external 1394 drive (1 internal at present, 5400 rpm system drive). Here’s the question:
Can I install a second internal drive (7200 rpm ATA or SATA) — capture to the new internal — move/transfer the footage to the external 1394 — complete the project on the external 1394?
I hate to lose the 200GB external 1394, but I have a frames-dropped problems and now realize external 1394 is not supported by Adobe (although I use one flawlessly on my Avid Xpress Pro at work). I would use the second internal occassionally, but would like to take advantage of the space on the 1394 drive.

I am using a sufficient PC: XP, 2GB RAM, >2.8Ghz processor, PPro 1.0.

    Thanks for your time,
    David

No problem. It should work fine. Just capture to a new directory, then toss out that project file. Transfer the files, and when you create a new project, import the entire new directory. It will show up as a bin.
