  Capture thru HDMI with Decklink HD PRO?

  Hey there, we originally bought the Decklink HD Pro with an HD Link box for monitoring our HD footage. For years we’ve had a system set up for capturing from client-supplied DVD’s. But that system is all PC and AVI’s while we edit everything on Macs and FCP with Quicktimes.

  So now I’m wondering if we can hook up a DVD player to the Decklink to capture with FCP on the Mac. Also curious if we could use the supplied HDMI adapter to connect an HDMI equipped DVD player.

  To be honest, I’ve been a little confused about the full potential of the Decklink and what all we can do with it. We’re a small shop and we’ve pretty much learned all this stuff on our own. We’ve come a long way, but sometimes need a little extra help with the technological side of things..

  Any insight into this situation would be greatly appreciated.
