I shot footage on a Panasonic DVX100B at 30p in bars (not squeezed) and when I attempt to digitize it into FCP at NTSC DV (not anamorphic)the footage always some how comes out as 854×480 and looks muddy. I am not changing any settings and capture at 4×3 and shot in 4×3 any ideas on what is wrong? Is FCP corrupt?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

That sounds wierd. Are you loading from the camera? Try trashing your preference files for FCP, then use NTSC DV preset. Also make sure the camera or load deck settings are set properly.

I am capturing from a deck and I have trashed settings and was using the standard DV present… it is very odd. It doesn’t even make sense and it continues to persist. Any ideas?
