Okay…when we scrub in log and capture, we see our footage just fine, but when we use capture now, the capture screen that comes up is black. Not showing the footage. We’re trying to capture HD1080i using a blackmagic HD card. The footage captures fine, we just cannont see it while we’re capturing. We have 12hrs of footage to capture and don’t have time to log everything we need. I’m sure I’m just missing a setting..The manual was no help and I found nothing searching this board. any suggestions? Thanks

First time I heard of that issue.

Can’t hook up a monitor to the deck and view it directly from the tape?

Are you not seeing the image in the Capture Window or the HD monitor which is hooked up to your Blackmagic card? You should see the image on your HD monitor.
Under normal circumstances you should also be seeing the image, albeit not full rez, in the capture window.

Do you have “video desktop” enabled on the BMD card preferences. If you do try turning it off to see if it makes a difference.

you may want to check that you have “Mirror on desktop” enabled in your A/V Devices setiings (Final Cut Pro > Audio/Video Settings… >> A/V Devices tab)
