    Hello,

I want to reformat my mac, so I am transferring all my files over to my external hd, but when I come to move the clips from my “Capture Scratch” I get the following message :

“The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0).”

    Can anyone help me out?

Sounds like something wrong with the files in there. Do they play OK? MIght want to try a software program to clone that drive with. Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper… both free just google them.

The files work fine, they open, even in my fc timeline they work, i don’t want to re-capture the footage because i’ve synced the audio, its a music concert, I’m trying to put the capture files onto my hard drive, those two softwares you suggested copy the hard drive , i only want the footage!

can it be because my external harddrive is ms-dos and not os x? is that why it says it cant be moved? because i can move the .mov files anywhere on the computer itself

Have you looked at the file permissions? Do a “Get Info” on the containing folder, set them to Read & Write and apply that the the enclosed files. That might work.

Also make sure you are doing a copy and not a move when you transfer them to the second drive.
