  Capture Questions

  Just a quick question for anyone who might want to answer…..

  I just got a Black Magic Multi Bridge Eclipse I know the best way to capture would be using the HD-SDI ports but untill we finish making our switch to HD we wont buy a deck that has HD-SDI output. So my question is this…..

  When capturing footage should I use the component inputs on the Black Magic or should I just stick in the digital realm and capture through the firewire?

  I know (or I think i know) even when capturing footage with firewire there is compression. When you go to an Analog signal into a capture card (like I would be doing going through component) I lose a generation.

  Which is the better way? Any info would be great….
