Ok, I haven’t upgraded yet, so that’s not the problem (or maybe it is). I’m working with FCP 4.5 / OS X 3.9 on a PowerBook G4. Suddenly, I am unable to capture (error message: unable to locate the following external devices). I’ve tried capturing from both my deck (Sony DVCAM) and even a camera (Sony DSR-250 AND a Panasonic 100A). I’ve trashed my preferences and tried again and still no luck. Help!!!

FYI: this is the first time I’ve tried capturing since I upgraded to QT 7 and then RE-installed QT 6.5. (Although that may have no bearing on this issue)

Ok, I’ve looked through the archives and have tried shutting it down and letting it rest overnight — no luck — also tried holding down Opt + Apple + R + P and waiting for the three chimes — still no luck. Can anyone assist?

    Thanks,
    Sue

I had an aluminum powerbook on me not want to connect to my XL-1 (the original model) all of the sudden in 4.5/10.3.9. If its a bug in the software, then sue’s issue might be related to mine. I tried it on a tibook with the same versions of the same stuff and it worked fine. That really boggled me. There is something strange going on with the capture window in 4.5/10.3.9 I just don’t know exactly what….
