  • Capture Problems after recent crossgrade from FCP HD (4.5) to FCP Studio

    Hi Guys
Last week I got the crossgrade from FCP HD (4.5) to the FCP Studio. I upgraded from OSX 10.3.9 to Tiger. All is groovy and am cutting my showreel. Wanted to add something I have on MiniDV cassette so as I usually would I connected the DVX100 camera and tried to import. This is where the problem starts… when I open FCP the pop-up box says that no firewire device can be traced and I get the option to check again or carry on, so after checking several times (moving from the front Firewire port to the rear on the G5, changing the FW lead and making sure the DV out option on the DVX100 is switched on) I opted to ignore it and check the settings in the software. I have checked all of the sequence settings, AV settings and even just gone in to easysetup and created a template sequence but all to no avail. The weird thing is is that the software says that no firewire device can be traced but when I log and capture I can control the camera VTR from FCP but the log and capture window says that the preview is disabled. I have gone all through the settings but just cannot get it to work. Is there something I have missed or something else I need to do in FCP studio? If anyone could help I’d be really grateful.
    Thanks
    Phil
