I have a G5 with Final Cut HD. When I capture and the capture window comes up that is actually capturing my clips, the clip begins to slightly jump frames. After it is captured it still does the same thing. Is it the deck? or the G5 or Final Cut? I have a Sony Digibeta deck. Some of the tapes do not have timecode on them. Can someone help me??????????

Hmmm….the only thing I can see straight away might be the time code issue. If timecode is not on the tapes (or is not consistent) make sure you are using “capture now”. Not being familiar with Digital Beta, maybe it’s a tracking issue?

Good luck. This is a great forum and if this doesn’t help, I am sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

Can you provide a bit more information on your set up, how you are capturing and so on. As for the timecode issue, I’m not sure how you can have a Digibeta tape without time code? If it’s a field original, the camera added the code. If it’s a dub, it should still have code. Unless the code is jumping (time of day?) it should work.
How are you getting the Digibeta into your system? At what compression? What kind of drives? More information, please!

I have AJA Kona 2 Card in my G5 that I’m getting the Digibeta footage from. I’m capturing it out of Kona 2: 525 29.97 10 bit and capyuring it into a Apple Xsan. Hope this helps!!
