    Hi

I have logged HD-DVCPRO tapes using DVCPRO HD 720P 30. Then decided to capture them using Blackmagic HDTV 720P 59.94 8 bit as I need to output the project onto a D5 tape.

The problem is when I use the batch capture command it seems to find imaginary timecode breaks then split the clip into bits 🙁

However when I check the tape there are no tc breaks and when I use capture now it captures the whole clip without any tc breaks. I also tried to bach capture and single logged clip this time it captured it as a whole clip but moved the media start and end poins as well as doubbling the clips duration. So it would capture a wrong section with the exact lenght of the original clip then captures as much black.

This is a large project and I dont have time to capture everything one by one.

If anyone might have an idea as to what might be causing this please reply.

    Thanks.

    Zee.

Hey it looks like I can digitize across breaks but FCP goes into “super slo mo” when it is searching for the bad time code. This bad code for me seems to be happening when they relate (smartslate) the shots. What happens is the slate is in slo mo during capture and then eventually picks up speed as the scene kicks in and then goes back to slo mo for the next slate. Since there are tons of takes the slo mo takes a lot of time to get through. I don’t know what to do to work around this. I know Avid would just log each clip with the correct time code recognizing the break in code. Is there anyway to do that in FCP? Any help is greatly appreciated as I hope to speed up the capturing process. THANKS!!!
