Capture Problem
can’t see any data in my log-and-capture window. no video, no audio, no time code. but it’s there on the tape — I checked it in the camera. and the device control works, so I know the deck is communicating with FCP. what gives? I’ve had the same setpu- for years, never had this problem before. any suggestions?

See if iMovie see things correctly… if so it’s likely not a hardware (cable) problem.
If iMovie works OK, try trashing preferences.
If that fails, reinstall QuickTime 7… https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301852
