    I. have a very strange acting DV connection. Capturing from both my Sony and Panasonic DV camera works fine, but printing does always drop frames (every 10-30 secs a 0.5 sec of frames). When I use the same avi file in e.g. Pinnacle studio I can print to tape without any problem. What is wrong?

Hard to say. Can you print from VidCap?

    Hi Edward,

I assume that you mean if I can print using the capture/printing tool that comes with Vegas. That is just what I’m doing all of the time. It allways drops frames when I rpint a rendered-as AVI file. I use it from the capture option in the file drop down list. Should I run it as an exe file without Vegas being active?

    Regards,

    Marcel

[MdG_NL] “Should I run it as an exe file without Vegas being active?”

    That might not hurt.

However, what about simply choosing Tools – Print to DV Tape in Vegas? Does that work? I assumed that was how you were going to tape and was offering the capture program as an alternative.

For an unknown reason I used the capture tool to try and print to tape. I guess it is because I used the capture tool first and saw that there was also a printing to tape option in it. It makes indeed more sense to use the Vegas-directly one. I will try this tonight and reply the result.
